If this bothers you then please realize that it's sadly rumored by many in the industry that over 90% of the so called "Authentic Indian Made Jewelry" being sold today is actually imported or made by non Indians. Many Indians themselves are involved in this, buying jewelry from Tasco Mexico or Asia, put their mark on it and sell it as "Authentic" making a high dishonest profit with minimal effort ! There is very little enforcement of consumer protection laws especially when many US laws are non enforcible on sovereign lands (reservations). Once in their hands who can prove they did or did not make it ? Scams like this have been going on for many, many years so please do not point the finger at me for anything.
